Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the term “Punjabi Taliban use by malik

ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has warned Interior Minister Rehman Malik against fanning provincialism by relating terrorism to any province.

Talking to press after condolence meeting with the family of deceased federal minister for minorities Shahbaz Bhatti here.

He said that the whole nation was sad over the murder of Shahbaz Bhatti.

Shahbaz Sharif said that there should not be politics in the name of Killing, adding that provincial government would fully collaborate in the investigation into murder of Shahbaz Bhatti.


The Chief Minister expressed disappointment over the term “Punjabi Taliban’ used by Interior Minister Rehman Malik in the federal cabinet.

Minorities' affairs minister Shahbaz Bhatti Murdered

ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister of Minorities, Shahbaz Bhatti was murdered by unknown gunmen in Islamabad. Hospital spokesperson Dr Azmat ullah Qureshi verify that the minister succumbed to the injuries.

He was shifted to the hospital Immediatly.Unknown person shot the minister when he was leaving from his house in Sector I-8.

In broad daylight, unknown persons sprayed bullets on the car of the minister after he came out of his mother's home in a residential area of Islamabad,police said.

"Three to four armed men riding in a white car intercepted his official vehicle GV-444," city police chief Wajid Durrani tell reporters.

The police head insisted that Shahbaz Bhatti had been provided with reasonable security, but said the minister was not accompanied by his security detail when the assault happened.

We are investigating this murder issue from different angles,"Durrani said.

Bhatti was died on arrival at Islamabad's SHIFA INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL, doctor Azmatullah Qureshi verify.

Fake degrees: CEC command action against 5 lawmakers

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner has directed the related DPSs to take action after filing cases on charges of fake degrees against 3 members of National Assembly and one each of Punjab Assembly and Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa Assembly.Geo News reported Monday

The three National Asembly members are: Hayatullah Tarin,Ghulam Dastagir Rajar and Mudasir Qayoom Nasir while Nasim Nasir Khwaja and Khalifa Abdul Qayum are from Punjab Assembly and Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.

Previously, in the same case of counterfeit degrees, the CEC had ordered action against 14 members of National and Provincial assemblies.

LAHORE:Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has assured that Raymond Davis case would be handled as per law and constitution of Pakistan.

Addressing in a ceremony here, chief minsiter punjab alleged that PPP itself broke the Charter of Democracy signed by Mian Nawaz Shairf and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for accountability of law and constitution besides elimination of menace of corruption.

The Chief Minister said that Nawaz Sharif kept patience for the sake of democracy.

Shahbaz Sharif informed that summary has been sent to the Punjab Governor for removal of PPP ministers as they have refused to quit themselves from government.
